If you like, explore the new graphics control panel to learn about new features or adjust settings. To do so, right-click on the Windows desktop, and find Intel HD Graphic Options, NVIDIA Control Panel, AMD Radeon Settings, or the name of the driver to discover its new options. If not, look for the file (usually ending in .inf) in your downloads directory. Click on Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.

  • If your graphics hardware is five years old, it’s very likely that optimized drivers for it are no longer being released.
  • Intel Driver & Support Assistant, earlier called, Intel Driver Update Utility automatically identifies, finds and installs drivers for your computer.
  • I am passionate about helping others and educating those who have questions about software deployment automation.

There’s a separate Driver tab — click on that to see the options. Double-click on the entry for your graphics card and switch to the Driver tab. To create your backup, right-click on Computer and select Properties. Click on the System Protection item on the left.

You Can Now Easily Install Drivers From Intel

Intel iGPU drivers shouldn’t cause any conflicts between AMD or NVIDIA drivers. However, having assets of AMD drivers installed on an NVIDIA system, or vice versa can cause issues. Once this has been done exit the options menu and now we can begin using DDU to remove our GPU drivers.

The company notes that OEM non-DCH to Intel Generic non-DCG upgrades and OEM non-DCH to Intel Generic DCH driver updates remain locked. One of the core issues that arises from this is that updated drivers may not be available all the time. When an OEM ends support for a particular device, updated drivers may not be made available anymore.

Switching to Intel vanilla drivers should work but if a lock is in place, does not because of it. When NVIDIA introduces a new product, software developers gradually obtain a deeper understanding of the underlying architecture. As a result, they can extract more performance from the architecture by using more recent driver Driver versions. You can check if the installation was successful by going back to the Device Manager and seeing if the Windows 11 graphics driver problem is solved.

Of course, you can also employ it in solving the graphics driver issues, for instance, the graphics card is not working so that the screen freezes. It is recommended you update your Intel drivers regularly in order to avoid conflicts. You can a Driver Installer and run a free scan to check if your drivers are up-to-date. The required drivers can then be updated manually or automatically using a driver update tool.
